Ganja : In a shocking incident under the Dandepalli police station limits, a family dispute between a married couple took a violent turn on Wednesday. Under the influence of ganja, the wife’s relatives attacked the husband’s family, leaving them severely injured.
Background of the Incident
According to reports from locals and the victims, the altercation began between Chunchu Lakshmi Narayana’s daughter Tirumala of Velganur village (Dandepalli Mandal) and Muthyam Lakshmaiah’s son Kamalakar of Donur village (Dharmapuri Mandal). The couple, married for ten years, had ongoing disputes over children, which eventually led to a family meeting at the Dandepalli police station.
Planned Attack During Family Meeting
During the meeting held in the presence of elders near the police station, the wife’s relatives brought a group of people in three vehicles and targeted the husband’s family. Allegedly under the influence of ganja, they tried to provoke a fight during the meeting. Though initially stopped by onlookers, they secretly coordinated via mobile phones and shared photos of Kamalakar’s family.
As Kamalakar’s family was heading to the police station to lodge a formal complaint, the attackers suddenly assaulted them with stones and knives, leaving several injured. Even bystanders who tried to intervene were beaten mercilessly.
Victims Flee to Police Station for Safety
The assailants, reportedly hired goons brought by the wife’s family, attempted to fatally attack Kamalakar and his relatives. In a desperate bid to save their lives, the victims ran to the police station. Shockingly, the attackers chased them all the way to the station and continued their violent behavior. The victims allege that despite the police being present, they failed to intervene effectively.

Police Ignored Prior Warnings, Say Victims
Kamalakar’s family claims they had informed the police earlier about a potential threat. However, the police allegedly dismissed their concerns. The victims have accused Chunchu Lakshmi Narayana, Akka Srinivas, Chunchu Jagadeesh, and Naresh of orchestrating the attack using hired goons.
Demands for Justice
The victims, now fearing for their lives, have appealed to higher authorities to investigate the incident and take strict action against the attackers and negligent police officers. They emphasized the need for justice and protection for their family.
Police Response
Dandepalli SI Uday Kiran stated that an investigation is underway based on the complaint filed by the victims. The injured have been sent for medical treatment. This incident highlights the dangerous consequences of unresolved family disputes, substance abuse, and alleged negligence by law enforcement. Authorities must take swift action to prevent such incidents in the future.
