Touch Hospital: Due to the greed for money of the Touch Private Hospital management in Mancherial, the victim’s family is in a difficult situation of having to take to the road for the body. The Touch Hospital administrators have caused further trouble to the family in distress over the death of their family member.
The details given by the victim’s family are as follows. Konga Srinivas (45) from Kagaznagar felt chest pain on Tuesday night and his family members took him to Touch Hospital in Mancherial. Since the patient’s condition was serious, they agreed on a package of Rs. 1.80 lakhs for immediate treatment. Immediately, the hospital administrators took a deposit of Rs. 1.50 lakhs from the victim’s family.
After that, the treatment started. Srinivas died within an hour of the start of the treatment. However, the hospital staff allowed the body to be taken in the morning. The victim’s family contacted the hospital management on Wednesday morning. The hospital management made it clear to the victim’s family that the bill had reached Rs. 4.50 lakhs and that the body would be handed over only after the remaining Rs. 3 lakhs were paid.
The family members wept in anguish over the hospital management’s behavior. If a person is really grieving after death, why should the hospital management charge a bill of lakhs for a single treatment? The victims expressed their anger and protested in front of the hospital after the hospital management insisted on handing over the body until the money is paid.
This created a tense situation there, and finally, after discussions between both sides, the hospital management handed over the body to the family members. Locals are demanding action against the hospital management in this regard.
Criticism is rife over the death of two patients in the same hospital within a month. Locals are questioning why the district medical department officials are not responding. They are demanding that the medical department officials respond and take action.
