Local body elections : District Additional Collector Sabavath Mothilal emphasized the need for officials and staff assigned to duties in the upcoming Sarpanch, Ward Members, MPTC, and ZPTC local body elections to perform their roles efficiently. On Tuesday, a training program was conducted at the Integrated District Office Building’s conference hall in Naspur, where District Panchayat Officer Venkateswar Rao, District Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Ganapati, SC Corporation ED, and Dandepalli Mandal Special Officer Durgaprasad, along with other officials, provided training on election conduct, handbook management, and the election process.
During the session, the District Additional Collector instructed the officials to carry out the local body elections in the district effectively. He emphasized the importance of officials paying attention during the training and understanding all aspects in detail, in accordance with election commission guidelines. He further stressed that from the moment the election notification is issued until the completion of the election conduct rules, all assigned duties should be performed transparently and effectively without any mistakes.
The officials were also urged to strictly implement the rules during the nomination, scrutiny, and withdrawal processes and handle them carefully. The elections will take place in the Mancherial and Bellampalli divisions, involving 16 mandals, 2,680 wards, 306 gram panchayats, 47 clusters, 129 MPTC, and 16 ZPTC seats. The elections for Sarpanch and MPTC seats will use pink-colored ballot papers, while white-colored ballots will be used for ZPTC and ward members.
Officials including returning officers, assistant returning officers, zonal officers, presiding officers, polling officers, counting supervisors, and other staff will be appointed for the election process. All necessary forms, envelopes, polling materials will be arranged and made available as required for the elections. Furthermore, officials and staff involved in the election duties will have the option to exercise their voting rights via postal ballot.
The District Additional Collector concluded by stressing the importance of conducting the election process in a meticulous and transparent manner. Relevant officials and others involved in the process attended the event.
